First Look at New Heston Blumenthal Restaurant

Renowned British chef Heston Blumenthal's London outpost at the Mandarin Oriental hotel is now open.

The most anticipated launch of the year, Dinner by Heston offers 24 dishes across three courses.

The menu serves a 21st century update of historic British recipes ranging from classic to obscure. The food is more considered and a welcome change from the theatrical creations at his Bray restaurant, yet the names are still curious.

Dishes like Salamugundy and Meat Fruit are accompanied by a date of origin. The Rice & Flesh starter (pictured) is a rich saffron risotto with calf's tail and red wine.
