Color Elite Prototype

Taiwanese design student Chen Liao-Hsun has developed a concept for a portable colour scanner and swatch library. Titled Color Elite, the concept combines digital colour calibration software with a small scanning device, allowing users to capture any colour from a physical swatch.

When combined with a bespoke e-paper screen, the complete device allows for the matching of colours to various colour systems. Users can bookmark colours for future reference, view similar tones or hues, and discover related trend stories via the digital interface. The concept was awarded an International Design Excellence Award this year.
