Matali Crasset Cathedral Chandeliers

Recently installed in the cathedral Saint Bénigne in Dijon, France, are nine chandeliers designed by Paris-based designer Matali Crasset.

Commissioned by the Bureau des Projects – an organisation that promotes artists’ work in public spaces – the chandeliers’ neutral colours and drop forms draw on classical elements of the cathedral’s gothic architecture.

The main light – which consists of eight chandeliers and will dominate the centre of the transept – will be installed in the cathedral at Easter this year.
