Who’s Your Space Agent?

Virgin Galactic has launched the world’s first online booking facility for sub-orbital space travel. A trip to the stars measures in at $200,000, with refundable deposits starting from $20,000. Interested passengers have been invited to place their reservations with the company directly or an “Accredited Space Agent”.

Scheduled for takeoff in 2012, passengers will spend three days with their crew before their booked journey, preparing for an ascent to 360,000 feet at 2,500 mph – at over three times the speed of sound. In-flight entertainment will include, quite literally, out of the earth views, weightlessness (when travellers will be able to somersault from the comfort of their own seat) as well as 3Gs of force. A giant leap for mankind indeed.
