Kate Spade Lands in London

Today, the glamour of uptown New York and the quirky cool of London are set to collide in style as US fashion label Kate Spade opens two stores in the English capital.

The new retail destinations – which herald the brand’s first forays into the UK – are located in upmarket Sloane Square, and tourist mecca Covent Garden. Both are fully decked out in the brand’s signature optimistic candy-stripes and mid-century modern furniture.

The openings follow the success of a Kate Spade pop-up store in a Covent Garden townhouse last year. According to creative director and co-president Deborah Lloyd, the London stores are viewed as a gateway for attracting consumers from Europe and the Middle East.

Both stores will sell all the retro-inspired, preppy clothing and handbags that the label has become well known for, but with additional exclusive products, including London/New York tote bags, and ‘London Calling’ enamelled bangles.
