Coca Cola's Green Vending Machines

Soft drinks giant Coca-Cola has launched eco-friendly vending machines in Japan.
The roofs are covered in a moss called Sunagoke, which should lower the units’ surface temperature and reduce energy consumption by improving cooling efficiency.
The green machines also incorporate a heat pump function that operates with a refrigerant containing no hydrofluorocarbons, which warms some beverages with the heat produced by cooling other drinks.
Trial machines have been rolled out in Jiyugaoka, a fashionable area in Tokyo, where the local community is promoting the conservation of the trees lining the streets.
