Helmut Lang Comes to Europe

Helmut Lang – the fashion house with an avant-garde, utilitarian aesthetic that was a defining force in fashion throughout the 1990s – opens its first freestanding European store in London’s Notting Hill on September 1.
The 800-square-foot store on Westbourne Grove will be anchored in wood, steel and concrete, with many of the visual inflections that symbolise the work of Austrian-born Lang, who relinquished the business in 2005 to concentrate on his work as a fine artist.
The London store will join three others in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo. The brand’s creative directors are US-New Zealand couple Nicole and Michael Colovos.
