Launched in late September, Grow is a San Francisco-based app that helps investors build and diversify their portfolios while focusing exclusively on environmentally sustainable, socially responsible companies with good governance.
Playing into growing consumer interest in brands that embed transparency and positive social change into their offering – a trend mapped out in our Next-Gen Activists report – Grow uses its own proprietary database and analytics tool, Grow Analytics, to identify potential investment opportunities that respect the values users say they care about most.
The service then automatically creates a personalised investment portfolio and tracks investments’ growth on the app’s homepage, displayed clearly as a circle graphic that shows both present and future value. Users can manually add funds or schedule monthly deposits from their bank account.
Grow generates revenue through a 0.25% app-based management fee, as well as its full service asset management arm, Grow Capital Management, and by licensing Grow Analytics to investment and research institutions. The app is free to download on the iTunes App Store.
