Issey Miyake: Pleats Please Anniversary Culinary Images

Japanese designer Issey Miyake has unveiled a series of culinary-inspired visual images to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his Pleats Please clothing line.

The pleated fabric has been reimagined as colourful, edible treats to mark the anniversary, with the likes of soft-scoop ice-cream cones, chocolate spread on toast and whipped cream on pancakes all featuring in the playful series. Conceived by art director Taku Satoh and designed by Shingo Noma, the celebatory images were photographed by Yasukai Yoshinaga.

Lightweight and comfortable, Pleats Please was launched as a standalone Issey Miyake line in 1993, with its signature multiple pleating giving movement and functionality to the casual garments.
