Liberty’s Paper Room

Today, London department store Liberty opened its Paper Room – a brand new stationery section dedicated to the art (and pleasure) of writing and wrapping.

Selling greetings cards, desk accessories and gift-wrap, as well as a new range of stationery embellished with classic Liberty prints, the area reflects the elevated status of handwritten letters in an age of digitalisation and instant messaging.

The space is decorated with the humorous illustrations of artist Dave Anderson, which are only revealed on the fixtures when the last product has been removed.

Meanwhile, busts of ancient gods and philosophers holding notebooks in their open-topped heads offer creative visual merchandising solutions with yet more tongue-in-cheek wit.
