Country Club Florals at Prada Men's Show

Punchy prints and preppy checked tailoring combined in Prada’s witty menswear collection for Spring 2012, which showed in Milan on Sunday. Italian fashion designer Miuccia Prada played with the strict rules of traditional golf wear by sending bright, bold florals down the runway, with tongue-in-cheek matching golf bags filled with Prada-branded golf clubs, working as the key detail of the show.

Slim-fitting trousers and boxy, structured shirts and jackets referenced the sporting-inspiration, while silk neckties, baker boy golf caps and studded golf shoes playfully accessorised the looks. The silhouette inspired a feeling of fifties Americana, with the oversized floral prints and rhinestone-embellished Western details creating a retro aesthetic. Models walked an Astroturf catwalk to a kitsch 1950s soundtrack, maintaining the playful tone of the collection.
