Online food service Housebites is reinventing the humble takeaway. Developed by UK entrepreneur Simon Prockter, the website links customers with cooks and chefs in their local area for restaurant-quality food delivered to their door.

Simply enter your postcode and browse the menus on offer from the chefs in your local area. Next, choose your main courses, sides and drinks, and a time slot for delivery.

Housebites chefs are gleaned from London’s best eateries, including The Ivy, Le Caprice and Barrafina. Social media is key to this business model – users rate their food, tweet the chefs and add comments to the Facebook page. Prockter says: “We have a quality yet affordable offering, and we are confident we can capture a significant market share.”
