London’s High Street Fashion Week

Preempting September's London Fashion Week, Oxford Street – the city’s biggest shopping street – is to host its third high street version of the event.

High Street Fashion Week gives the public a taste of the glamour of trade-only London Fashion Week, kicking off with a surprise event. Last year it staged a vertical fashion show with models abseiling down some of Oxford Street’s most famous facades.

Retail involvement this year includes a vlogging (video blogging) booth hosted by department store Selfridges, designed as an engaging method of starting dialogue between the department store and its shoppers. In-store discounts are also being offered by participating shops including New Look, Topman, and Benetton.

High Street Fashion Week is sponsored by London’s free daily newspaper, Metro newspaper and runs from September 5–9.
