Fashion Week A/W 13-14: Acidic Lime Dirndl

Acid bright lime green is proving a popular colour for ladylike dirndl skirts, already highlighted as a key piece for Autumn/Winter 2013-14.

The neon piece was seen on UK boutique label Antipodium’s catwalk at London Fashion Week, while similar takes on the trend have been spotted on fashion-week goers between shows. Australian blogger Margaret Zhang teamed her Tibi skirt with an illustrated tee (notably featuring model-of-the moment Cara Delevigne), graphic coat and burgundy beanie for an urban update on the feminine full skirt.

Burgundy seems to be proving a popular accent colour for the statement piece, with oversized scarves and boots also seen as clashing accessories. It seems ‘red and green should never be seen’ is no longer a rule to follow when it comes to making a statement.
