Asher Israelow

Forbes’ ‘30 Under 30’ list of young influential disruptors, innovators and entrepreneurs featured just one furniture designer this year – New Yorker Asher Israelow. His Brooklyn-based studio is known for its bespoke wooden furniture, made from ethically and locally sourced materials.

The designer takes pride in using traditional joinery techniques and a handcrafted approach to produce original and unique furniture “designed to last for generations”. His style is refined and elegant, often including rustic elements like naturally shaped slabs of wood, or poetic detailing, such as the walnut tables featuring brass inlays of star constellations.

Israelow was commissioned last year to produce chairs for the David H. Kock Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City.
