ClifMojoGo Twitter Campaign

US energy bar maker Clif Bar has launched the first geographic location-based Twitter campaign, called ClifMojoGo. It is part of a promotional effort for Clif Bar’s new organic snack, Clif Mojo.

Participants can send a geo-tagged tweet capturing their favorite outdoor summer activity to the @CLIFMojoGo Twitter account and receive a voucher for a free Clif Mojo bar. “Subsequent adventures” tweeted to the account will enter participants into a sweepstake for the chance to win various sports-related items.

The Clif Bar team must manually verify each location-based tweet before contest entry is approved. Despite the campaign’s potential for increased client engagement, this time-consuming requirement of manual verification may deter other companies from embracing geo-location-based Twitter promotions.
