The Berkeley Vintage Style Service

The Berkley Fashion Trunk

Luxury London hotel The Berkeley has partnered with premium French vintage re-sale website Vestiaire Collective on a concierge service offering guests an opportunity to access vintage pieces from the comfort of their room.

Guests staying at The Berkley's three new suites (the Chelsea, Berkeley and Grand Terrace), can request to see a fashion trunk, designed by British craftsmen Noble & Graff, by simply calling the hotel's concierge. Filled with a collection of sought-after clothing and accessories curated by Vestiaire Collective, the trunk will be delivered straight to their room, where they can rent pieces free of charge (for an evening) or purchase immediately for permanent use.

The large white leather trunk includes pieces from the 1950s to the 1990s from the likes of revered fashion houses Yves Saint Laurent, Dior and Chanel.

Co-founder of Vestaire Collective, Fanny Moizant states that the edit is specifically focused on the traveller-consumer ("I looked at our vintage catalogue and picked pieces that we imagined guests would want access to while travelling") – echoing another 2016 concept from Canadian performance brand Kit and Ace, which promoted its travel-friendly wardrobe with a series of pop-up shops called The Carry-On in seven luxury hotels worldwide.
