The Lowry Hotel Diversifies Turndown Service

The Lowry Manchester

Offering a new take on luxury hotel turndown service, The Lowry in Manchester (UK) has introduced a menu of options based on guests’ priorities. This slumber-focused menu is a great example of how hotels are developing a variety of sensorial tactics to help their guests experience a restful night.

For health-minded guests, the Wellness Turndown option includes a yoga mat, exercise video, and a bottle of kombucha. It also includes products from UK essential oil brand Aromatherapy Associates, such as travel-sized Revive Body Wash and Bath & Shower Oil. See Hospitality’s Heightened Fitness Focus for more in-room wellness activations.

Meanwhile, the Sleep Well Turndown includes a pillow menu for optimum comfort levels, an eye mask, sleep-inducing podcasts and a soporific aromatherapy oil. For guests seeking comfort and nurture, the Snuggle Turndown includes a DIY hot chocolate kit, a branded Lowry bear, a hot water bottle, slippers, an eye mask. There’s also a Thousand Flower Mask and a Night Recovery Cream-Oil from British beauty brand Elemis.

It also offers guests the option of having no turndown service at all (called the Eco Turndown service) for those who wish to forgo the bells and whistles to save energy and resources. See British luxury brand Lagom’s similar guest-led eco menu, as covered in Ethical Travel’s Mainstream Breakthrough.
