London Men’s Street Style: The Waistcoat

A key micro street style direction to emerge at London Collections: Men this month was the waistcoat – a popular piece adopted and adapted to suit various aesthetics.

It was not only those demonstrating the classic English country gentleman look who wore the traditional piece of suiting; the waistcoat was made contemporary when worn without a matching jacket and teamed with jeans and a quirky bowtie. As part of a three-piece suit, the look was given an edge with vintage and modern accessories such as piercings, brooches, pocket swatches, neckties and unexpected footwear.

London Collections: Men ran from June 15-17 2012. Look out for Stylus’ complete coverage of the event, coming soon.
