Famed for his abstract colour-field paintings and graphic approach to fine art, Massachusetts-born artist Frank Stella (b. 1936) changed the face of American painting when he emerged onto the scene in the late 1950s. A comprehensive retrospective at the Haunch of Venison gallery, London brings together the largest display of his work in the UK to date. Titled Connections, the exhibition shows Stella’s masterful use of colour and acute attention to detail in a collection spanning seven decades, reinforcing the artist’s continuing influence on contemporary art.
