Open House

Dutch design brand Droog’s Open House initiative explores the future of suburban housing. The project encourages homeowners to supplement their income and develop a new vocation, offering homemade services and facilities to the public. By doing so, Open House aims to bring more capital to neighborhoods, as well as increasing social cohesion through service exchange.

Open House will be launched at Studio-X New York on April 23 2011, followed by a tour to Levittown, where members of the public can view and participate in several suburban installations designed and executed by architects, designers and artists in collaboration with homeowners.
