Heal's Art of Windows

Extra

Championing burgeoning artistic talent while simultaneously breathing life into its post-Sale window displays, homewares and furniture retailer Heal’s is launching Artists in Residence 2011 later this month.

For seven days, 11 students from the UCL Slade School of Fine Art will create original artworks and installations in the windows of Heal’s central London flagship store on Tottenham Court Road.

Heal’s hopes that customers will not only be inspired by the live creations, but also get involved. One artist, Alex Springer, will create working cameras from a Brabantia bin, offering customers the chance to take their own pictures, which will be developed in store and available to take home.

The project will be in situ from January 31 to February 6.
