VIDEO: Pre-Fall 16 Hair & Beauty

Natural hair and barely-there make-up were the key takeaways for Pre-Fall 16, a season of wearable and attainable looks sure to inspire consumers.

Super-natural, seemingly unstyled hair was popular, with curls, waves and frizz all celebrated. Softly brushed-out afros were seen at Tome and Bottega Veneta, while McQ Alexander McQueen’s shiny blonde curls were reminiscent of Daryl Hannah’s mermaid waves in the 1984 movie Splash. And in complete contrast, oil-slick hair with severe centre and side-partings were seen at Public School and 3.1 Phillip Lim.

For beauty, the dominant clean minimal make-up look saw glowing, subtly contoured and highlighted skin take centre stage, best seen at Hervé Leger. A new trend for tone-on-tone beauty featured soft pinks, peaches and toffee tones worn across the eyelids, cheeks and lips, while at Rebecca Taylor and Creatures of the Wind hot red lipstick provided an intense pop of colour.
