The Everything Roof, Toronto

Extolling the benefits of community engagement, The Everything Roof – a grassroots initiative in Toronto, Canada – plans to establish a roof garden and educational space on top of a city-centre building.
Conceptualised by local arts and environmental collective About Face, the project’s main focus will be on encouraging the local community to take up urban farming, adopt greener lifestyles and interact more with each other by sharing the lounge, learning centre and food garden facilities. Boosting its eco credentials further still, the 204 sq m space will be built using recycled and reclaimed materials.
The project will be on the roof of the Centre for Social Innovation Annex, and is being realised in collaboration with not-for-profit organisations Sketch Working Arts for Street-Involved and Homeless Youths, and Skate4Cancer.
