Infobar C01 Smartphone by Naoto Fukasawa

Currently in the midst of an Android revolution, the Iida brand of KDDI Au – Japan’s second-largest mobile carrier – is to launch five new smartphones designed by Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa.

Titled Infobar C01, the model’s unusually long candy bar design features a checkered keypad beneath a full touchscreen. The model combines the form and functionality of the original 2004 first-generation model, but its redesign comprises a newly developed android-based user interface with multiple options to customise the device.

The Infobar C01 is expected to launch in Japan in February 2012.
