HR Manager (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for an HR Manager to cover maternity leave on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this stand-alone role is responsible for the smooth running of the HR department for 90+ clients in five countries. You will be expected to manage the day-to-day requirements of the function, ensuring that it supports the business while overseeing projects as the need arises.

Key Responsibiltiies 

  • Advise and support line managers at all levels on best practice concerning employment-related queries, including employee relations
  • Manage recruitment end to end from candidate sourcing to onboarding for senior roles and support other hiring managers through the process as required
  • Drive the annual Performance Development Review (PDR) process, including mid-year check-ins
  • Manage the learning and development agenda
  • Execute the employee survey
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with employment law
  • Continually monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary, particularly around remote working
  • Work with the General Counsel to ensure all compliance requirements are met, including employment law, immigration and GDPR
  • Manage the HR database, making sure records are up to date and accurate
  • Manage payroll and benefits administration
  • Report on key management information as required

Project Work

  • Lead our Diversity & Inclusion agenda together with the Diversity & Inclusivity Working Group
  • Work with the COO and Executive Board to develop and execute a strategy for employee engagement
  • Drive cultural initiatives through our Social, Impact (Charity and Environment) and Insider (Values) working groups

About you

  • Previous experience in an HR Manager role, preferably with an international client base. Prior experience in a stand-alone role is preferred
  • Strong generalist experience including employee relations
  • Commercially aware with the ability to relate HR activity to business goals
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders quickly as this role will be based from home initially
  • Resilient self-starter
  • Pragmatic problem-solver
  • Experience with People HR is a plus
  • CIPD qualified or working towards it
