Stylus is a leading consumer trends and innovation research company with offices in London, New York, Australia, Brazil and Japan. We’re looking for a full-time Researcher to join our content team in New York (the position will largely be remote for the short term).

You’ll provide research and writing support for all key areas of focus at Stylus – from wellness and travel trends to evolving generational attitudes and new foods and beverages. This is a great role if you have a wide-ranging curiosity for many topics and love staying on top of what’s new. For this position, we’re also looking for someone with a keen interest in BIPOC communities who can play a key role in supporting our coverage here.

Strong writing and research skills are essential, as the role entails producing a high-volume of short and long-form articles. You’ll also be responsible for managing images and uploading content to the website, so experience with visual research and working with a CMS is a plus.

Your day-to-day will entail

  • Tracking US trend news and contributing research for reports across directories
  • Writing short-form blog posts (more frequently) and long-form reports (less frequently)
  • Tagging and building reports in our CMS (content management system)
  • Using programs such as the CMS, Keynote, Aperture and Photoshop to prepare content for publication or presentation 
  • Managing and organizing images, data and qualitative research, as well as press releases and event materials

We'll sometimes ask you to 

  • Tracking US trend news and contributing research for reports across directories
  • Interview industry experts
  • Present for Stylus at events and speak with clients

Experience we're looking for

  • Educated to degree level, or at least equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years’ work experience in a writing-focused field, such as journalism or trend forecasting
  • Deep familiarity with issues and trends affecting BIPOC communities
  • Interest and experience in writing about topics related to consumer attitudes, technology, food/beverage and travel/hospitality
  • Strong research skills with a high attention to detail (that is, you can tell a useful consumer survey from an industry-sponsored one) 
  • Excellent communication skills that mean you’ll be comfortable working with a remote team, speaking to industry experts and presenting Stylus content, both digitally and in-person
