VIDEO: CES 2017, Voice Control

Sioban Imms, senior editor of Colour & Materials, shares one of the most prominent trends from CES 2017.

Voice control is the new interface for domestic products and home appliances, with Amazon Alexa proving to be the most popular technology across the show.

To illustrate how the connected home can function, US brand iDevices created an immersive experience with its home kit – a series of connected plug-in devices that make everyday objects smart and controllable by voice.

We’ll be tracking how this way of interacting with our home interiors impacts on our daily rituals as the technology matures.

CES runs from January 5-8 in Las Vegas. Look out for our full coverage of the event, publishing on January 18.
