Vitamin Demand Spikes in Singapore

Sales of Vitamins have increased in Asia

Sales of vitamins and supplements have grown fivefold in Singapore in the past two weeks, amid growing concerns around the coronavirus outbreak– according to local supermarket chain NTUC FairPrice

The company has seen an exceptionally high demand for soluble vitamin C and multivitamins at its in-store pharmacy sub-brand Unity.

It has also reduced the price of its over-the-counter flu-relief products and immunity-boosting medications for a limited time to encourage citizens to bolster and support their overall health.

According to the supermarket chain, stocks of some brands are running low due to high demand, however it is working with suppliers to ramp up production.

Elsewhere in Asia, Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has reported a 5.5% increase in sales of effervescent vitamin C tablets since the beginning of January.
