Whisky at the Wharf

This summer, London’s Canary Wharf – a banking district best known for its high-rise office buildings – is letting its hair down as alcohol brand Johnnie Walker Blue Label takes up residence with a temporary whisky lounge and cigar bar at Plateau Restaurant.

Designed by creative agency Special Projekt (see Brand Blending), the space is a modern interpretation of the gentleman's club theme, and is punctuated throughout with subtle interjections of heritage patterns and monogram logos (all in blue, of course) to remind guests of the label's history.

It's in one of the open-air terraces of the Manhattan-style restaurant that the crowning glory of the space can be found, however: a bespoke JWBL (Johnny Walker Blue Label) bar, featuring an etched façade, brass cladding and internal lighting.
