Idler Academy, London

A bookshop, a coffee house and a school, the Idler Academy – located in London’s Notting Hill – opened its doors on March 3.

Following the hugely successful shop-fronted social learning model of the School of Life (also in London), the Idler Academy of ‘Philosophy, Husbandry and Merriment’ offers ‘cultivated leisure’ in the form of lectures and events.

Forthcoming salon-style lectures range from: The Joy of Maths with Alex Bellos and Tom Hodgkinson to Gavin Pretor-Pinney on the Art of Cloud Collecting.
