The Wizard of Oz Experiment

A video installation by German artist Dennis Neuschaefer-Rube turns the film The Wizard of Oz into an ever-changing digital mosaic.

In The Wizard of Oz Experiment, the film is shown 5,829 times side by side in rows from left to right. Each frame is one second from the previous. The technicolour video is repeated every 98 minutes to create a shifting, pixelated wall of colour.

See our Motion Colour concept for Spring/Summer 2014 for more artists who embrace movement in their work.
