San Francisco company Stamen has created an experimental open source mapping tool called Prettymaps. Composed of data pulled from free community-generated data sources such as OpenStreetMap, Natural Earth and Flickr Shapefiles, the app is not only an interesting take on crowdsourced databases, it is also beautiful to look at.
