Hermes’ London Exhibition

French luxury heritage label Hermes is to open a new exhibition titled Leather Forever in London in May.

The exhibition will explore the brand’s relationship with leather, featuring items from the brand’s archive including pieces commissioned by the UK’s Duke of Windsor for his Duchess, as well as more recent designs.

The label has created four bags to celebrate the launch of the 10-day event, representing England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. These will go to auction, with all proceeds donated to London’s Royal Academy of Arts. Artisans and craftsmen from the Hermes workshops in Paris will also be on hand at the event to demonstrate the process involved in making the exhibited bags.

Hermes: Leather Forever runs from May 8-27 2012 at 6 Burlington Gardens, London.
