PFW A/W 15-16: Lanvin

Lanvin A/W 15-16

Tassels and fringing proved key details at Lanvin this season, with belts, bags, shoes, hats and knitwear all featuring ornamental edgings and decorative trimmings.

A particularly strong direction for accessories, Lanvin worked silk cord into elaborately knotted tassel belts as well as oversized earrings and tiered statement necklaces. Leather tassels adorned ankle and knee-high boots, as well as adding a bohemian touch to suede gloves.

Elsewhere, the passementerie (elaborate trimmings) trend was echoed in elegantly dishevelled knitwear, which featured fringed hems and seams, as well as in delicate ostrich-feather fringing and curly goat hair applied to skirts, coats and jackets.

The collection drew on fashion designer Alber Elbaz’s Moroccan heritage, and channelled the bohemian 70s trend that we saw emerge in the S/S 15 collections and continues to dominate this season’s catwalks.

Paris Fashion Week runs until March 11.
