BMW Guggenheim Lab

The BMW Guggenheim Lab is a six-year experiment that will travel across nine cities worldwide with the aim of creating forward-thinking solutions for urban life.

Part think-tank and part community centre, the lab – led by interdisciplinary teams from areas including design, technology, education and sustainability – will explore the issues surrounding urban life by engaging in a public discourse including talks, exhibitions, film screenings and community discussions. The findings will be presented during a special exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum, New York, in 2013.

The theme for the first two-year cycle is Confronting Comfort. The first BMW Guggenheim Lab runs from August 3 to October 16 in New York.
