Mercedes-Benz Sponsors Madrid Fashion Week

Madrid is the latest Fashion Week to receive sponsorship from Mercedes-Benz.

The German auto manufacturer, which is already the leading sponsor of numerous international fashion weeks including Berlin, New York and Sydney, has collaborated with IFEMA (Feria de Madrid) – the exhibition centre and trade fair institution that holds Madrid Fashion Week biannually. Mercedes-Benz will become the leading sponsor of the event, which will now be known as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. The Spanish week had previously been known as The Spanish Fashion Show.

The Spanish fashion season will be on its 55th edition when it commences under its new name in February 2012. The previous edition of The Spanish Fashion Show drew more than 50,000 visitors over the course of five days. The collaboration will offer an opportunity for Mercedes-Benz to strengthen its "position in the Spanish market", says IFEMA in its press release.

The first edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid will run from 1-5 February 2012 at the Feria de Madrid exhibition centre in Spain.
