Hong Seon Jang: Labyrinth

New York-based British artist Hong Seon Jang’s latest collection of work titled Labyrinth includes Black Forest – a series of pieces created using tape layered onto black chalkboards.

Jang creates areas of different tonal intensity using tape, depicting ethereal forest scenes – some of which appear to include transparent trees whose structures are outlined using a visual aesthetic similar to wire framing.

The Stylus colour rationale for Autumn/Winter 2013-14 Wire Frames presents this technique alongside other artists working with similar ideas.

Labyrinth is on show at the David B Smith Gallery in Colorado until June 16 2012.
