Luisa Via Roma Unicef Pugs

Florentine designer boutique Luisa Via Roma has collaborated with several design houses and bloggers on a collection of stuffed pugs to raise money for global charity Unicef.

Uniting designers and bloggers to raise awareness of the plight of children in Bangladesh, 21 pug dogs have been customised by the likes of Emilio Pucci, Theyskens Theory, Roberto Cavalli and Missoni, with three designs going up for auction each week. The first batch went on auction on March 19, with Balmain, Mary Katrantzou and Valentino first up for bid via global auction site, Ebay.

Each pug has been adopted by an international fashion blogger to raise further publicity for the charity collection, with US-based Bryan Boy, Fashion Toast and The Bag Snob all involved in the project. Two pugs have been adopted by famous Chinese bloggers and will be auctioned via Taobao, an online portal for sales exclusively to Chinese customers.

Al proceeds from the sales of the stuffed pugs will be donated to Unicef project Arise (Appropriate Resources for Improving Street Children’s Environment).
