Indulgent Interiors for NY Bakery

In celebration of the very act of indulgence, Omonia Bakery in the Queens district of New York envelops customers in a warm and sensuous interior designed by New York architects, Bluarch.

The ceiling and curved walls are clad in undulating chocolate-coloured mosaic tiles, creating a sense of fluidity that leads the eye to its main focal point: a series of sculptural, red cedar wood spheres which hang from the ceiling, around tubular, incandescent light bulbs. The wooden orbs dim the lighting, establishing a cosy, intimate ambience.

Another key feature that greets customers immediately on arrival is an elongated glass counter, which guides the eye to the kitchen area, housed in a glass box overlooking the space.
