Ceramic Jags by Andrey Grishko

Born in the Ukraine, student Andrey Grishko is about to enter his fourth year in the Industrial Design Studies programme at the prestigious Shenkar College in Israel. Already showing a flair for innovation and creative problem solving, Grishko’s second-year project Ceramic Jags investigated new ceramic processes.

He created paper moulds, which were rotated while a specially designed machine extruded clay onto the shape. When fired, the paper crumbled leaving a unique and seemingly fragile vessel.

Grishko took part in the Shenkar College internship programme this summer and exhibited alongside other students at a special exhibition earlier this week at the Halcyon Gallery in Mayfair.
