The Gourmet Tea, Sao Paulo

Adopting the colours of The Gourmet Tea’s tinned tea blends, Alan Chu’s solution for the brand’s café space in Sao Paulo has a brightly hued display unit and vibrant pendant light fixtures, creating a colourful, simple space.

Chu has used only plywood to construct the café’s furniture and painted the stripped brick walls with white emulsion. His checkerboard pattern of 35 different colours gives the space a lively and fresh atmosphere, while focusing visitors’ attention on the tea label’s diverse offerings.
