FALT.series by Tim Mackerodt

Showing at DMY Design Festival next week in Berlin will be FALT.series – a stool and lamp made from folded concrete by German designer Tim Mackerodt.

The objects are made from thin sheets of fibre-reinforced concrete that is rolled out and manually folded over flexible moulds. The thin, ‘walled’ objects produce shapes and surfaces that are not replicable via conventional concrete casting methods.

Mackerodt completed the project while studying at the Kunsthochschule Kassel, Germany. His work can be viewed at the DMY Berlin alongside work from other students from June 1- 5, 2011.
