FreshPaper: Food Preservation Sheets

FreshPaper – developed by Indian Harvard graduate Kavita Shukla – is an organic paper innovation that preserves and extends the shelf life of fresh produce.

FreshPaper is an organic waffled paper infused with organic spices that emits a maple-like scent that signals the paper is active. Inspired by the fenugreek herb mix Shukla’s grandmother made to prevent illness caused by ingesting contaminated water, the paper can be placed anywhere near produce to help maintain its freshness. Shukla claims the product keeps fruits and vegetables fresh for two to five times longer.

Boasting biodegradable, compostable and recyclable attributes, FreshPaper ticks the eco box as well. And its ability to preserve food for longer reduces waste. Shukla says: “FreshPaper improves access to fresh, healthy food, and boosts the lives of farmers and communities worldwide.”
