Mandy Barker: Soup

British photographer Mandy Barker has collected and photographed debris from beaches and coastal areas in a series titled Soup. Photographed against a black background, the digitally produced images show the items arranged by colour, theme and size.

Many of the subjects are waste plastic, resulting in a vibrant mix of inherent hues that have not been tainted by weathering. The report Plastic Fantastic further explores plastics and the colour palette that is most common to the material.
