StoneGround Wall Coverings

New York-based design firm Trove launched its first wall coverings collection, made from powdered stone, at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair last week.

The patterns were printed on a material manufactured from eco-friendly powdered stone – StoneGround – which is made from calcium carbonate (found in chalk and limestone) and a small amount of resin.

Not only does the material save trees, but it requires no water for production and uses 20-30% less ink than traditional wallpaper – it’s fibreless surface doesn’t absorb ink like tree pulp. It’s also durable and water and tear-resistant.
