Bikini Island by Werner Aisslinger for Moroso

Berlin-based designer Werner Aisslinger has produced a series of brightly coloured chairs and a set of modular furniture for Italian brand Moroso, called Bikini Island.

The striking Bikini Wood dining and swivel chairs embrace bold colour blending and come in a variety of colour gradients, softly diffusing from vibrant primary shades of red, yellow or blue.

The entire Bikini Island collection comprises modular units including poufs, tables, cabinets, sofas and bookshelves that can be arranged into ideal compositions to suit the space.

Further use of smooth coloured gradients is explored within art and design in our Colour Diffusion report. Also look to the colour-blending techniques used by New York designer and architect Rafael de Cardenas, whose furniture is highlighted in the Stylus report Spray-paint Effects.

Moroso is due to debut the collection at this year’s Milan Design Week, which runs from April 9-14 2013. Look out for full Stylus coverage of the event.
