Harrods Shoe Salon Opens

Last night, Stylus attended the opening of London department store Harrods’ new Shoe Salon – 15,000 sq ft of Art Deco-style space displaying a vast selection of designer footwear.

Designed by interior architecture and design agency Shed, in conjunction with footwear brand Kurt Geiger, the Salon reflects Harrods’ reputation as a global leader in multi-brand retailing.

Invoking a golden era of decadence, every detail – from the flooring to the lighting and the fixtures – has been designed to exude a sense of opulence. Above the main display area is a spectacular 30-metre light with chandeliers that descend low into the space, spotlighting the most popular shoe collections and shaping walkways. Bespoke chairs by furniture designer George Smith allow for relaxation and contemplation amid the frenzy of shopping.
