Gastronomic Christmas

This year, New York department store Barney’s will be making an unprecedented move away from fashion-led window designs in favour of culinary delights.

Unveiled on November 16 under a ‘Have a Foodie Holiday’ theme, the Manhattan windows of Barney’s will pay homage to food and innovators in the gastronomic arts, such as Julia Child and Jamie Oliver.

One display, leaked in advance, has been billed as featuring recycled Illy coffee cans, bags, cups and tins with a ‘Miss Illy’ mannequin adorned in an espresso machine headdress and silver Christian Louboutin pumps.
