Tumblr’s Dashboard Ads
From May this year, advertisers will be able to tap into Tumblr’s 52 million + users when the social microblogging site inserts advertising units on its homepage.
Gathering roughly 120,000 hits a day, Tumblr’s ‘Featured’ section will host these ad units, offering brands the opportunity to target a new generation of digital ‘tastemakers’ who are using sites like Tumblr to express themselves visually.
Tumblr chief executive David Karp was originally opposed to hosting advertisements on the site, but its recent acceleration in popularity among the blogging community has opened up incredible monetising potential.
